Objectives of the training :

The Department of Planning and Hydraulic Engineering offers a training of State Engineers in Hydraulics and Master in Planning and Hydrotechnical Structures.

The curriculum of the training allows the students engineers’ acquisition of skills and qualifications in the fields of:

  • Conduct and monitoring of dam sites and constructions
  • Structural Design: Dams, Hydrotechnical and Coastal Engineering Works
  • Study of watercourse development projects
  • Study and realization of hydraulic works and transfer
  • The transmission of sufficient and adequate theoretical and practical knowledge makes it possible to mobilize knowledge and know-how to apprehend problems and real situations of hydraulic infrastructure projects.
  • Assurance of the principles of management, conduct and governance of water infrastructure projects;
  • Acquisition of the necessary tools related to communication and economy for an integrated vision of a hydraulic project.

Lessons are delivered in the form of courses, tutorials, practical work, mini-projects of simulation under a supervision provided by university teachers and professionals.

The teaching methods are based on international norms and standards, relating to the method of organization and pedagogical progression.

The teaching staff of the department is more concerned with improving pedagogy in close collaboration with the school’s quality assurance unit. This action aims to ensure visibility and readability to the training course provided by the school, based on the precept of high level training and undeniable skills.

The teaching aims to enhance future engineers’ skills in terms of:

  • The transmission of sufficient and adequate theoretical and practical knowledge makes it possible to mobilize knowledge and know-how to apprehend problems and real situations of hydraulic infrastructure projects.
  • Assurance of the principles of management, conduct and governance of water infrastructure projects;
  • Acquisition of the necessary tools related to communication and economy for an integrated vision of a hydraulic project.

Opportunities:

Graduated engineers may work in the following structures and establishments:

  • Central Administrations of the Water Resources Sector;
  • Water Resources Directions;
  • Hydrographic Basin Agencies;
  • National Agencies (ANBT, ANRH, ONA, ONID and ANAT);
  • Public and Private Design Offices
  • Implementing companies (responsible for project management and monitoring);
  • Research centres.

Qualifications and entrepreneurship:

In order to encourage initiatives in the field of entrepreneurship, the department activates by offering skills to the pre-incubation of innovative technical projects.

It is a structured training program called (FIE-DZ) and a second free program, relating to the environment for creating start-ups called the Company Program, the latter is provided with the collaboration of the association and the group of Algerian entrepreneurs INDJAZ -El Djazair.

Missions:

The head of the department is in charge of:

  • Ensure the educational and administrative functioning of the department.
  • Ensure respect of the application of training programs
  • Ensure the organization of programmed controls within the department
  • Ensure coordination between teaching teams.

It is appointed, for a period of three (3) years, renewable once, among permanent teachers of higher education and training, justifying the highest rank by order of the Minister of Higher Education, on proposal by the director of the school.
